The Finnish Orienteering Association announces that the management team of the Jukola relay has granted Jämi the organizing rights for the 2030 Jukola relay. The arrangement rights for 2029 were granted to Kaustinen.
The clubs that organize the event are Rastikarhut (Pori), Ikaalisten Nouseva-Voima and Kankaanpään Suunnitajat.
The Jukola relay and the Venla relay were organized in Jämi in 2004.
According to the orienteering association’s announcement, the selection of organizers was very strict and all the applicants had done an excellent job. Everyone had their own strengths and challenges, which made the decision difficult. The terrains in the competitions granted now will be varied, as will the competition arenas.
The Jukola relay has been organized since 1949, so the Jämi event will be the 81st Jukola relay. In 2025, the rJukola relay and the Venla relay will be contested in Mikkeli in mid-June, and more than 18,000 participants are expected.
