Jämi is located in the north-eastern part of Satakunta, in Jämijärvi. The distance from Pori and Tampere to Jämi is about 80 km, and from the Finnish capital region about 250 km. From Kankaanpää and Ikaalinen, Jämi is about 25 km away.
The main road to Jämi is the Jämintie road (road number 2613) deriving from Jämijärventie/Ikaalistentie road (road number 261) in Jämijärvi municipal centre. The roads are paved with asphalt.
From Ikaalinen you can also reach Jämi along Jyllintie road deriving from Ikaalistentie road (road number 261). From the junction of Jyllintie road it is about 9 km to Jämi and about 10 km to the centre of Jämijärvi. The Jyllintie is a gravel road.
You can also reach Jämi from the direction of Kankaanpää along Kyrönkankaanantie road and Sormelantie road. The roads are paved with gravel. Please note that the roads are private roads, and permission to use them for events must be obtained from the private road maintenance associations.
In the central area of Jämi there is a large parking lot in front of the Jämi Arena and a small asphalt parking lot in front of the ski tunnel. Parking for thousands of vehicles can be arranged on the asphalt-paved runways and surrounding unpaved areas in Jämi. The use of these car parks and airfield areas must be agreed with the Jämi Foundation, and an event permit must be applied for from Metsähallitus for events organised in these areas.
The large gravel parking area next to the Jämi Arena can accommodate hundreds of cars. There is also a smaller parking area to the north of the large parking area. There is also a small parking area at the beginning of the Rinnetie road. In addition, the ski stadium (6) can accommodate more than a couple of hundred cars. Metsähallitus will be asked for permission to use these areas.
The dog/baseball field (7) can accommodate just under a couple of hundred cars. The municipality of Jämijärvi grants a permit to use the area. In addition, an event permit from Metsähallitus is required for use of the area.
To the north of the northern runway is a large grazing area (10), which can be used as a parking area for large events. A licence for the use of this area is being negotiated with a private landowner.
Parking spaces 1-5 in the Jämi area are normally available to customers free of charge and without time restrictions. The area delimitations on the map are indicative.
During school terms, there are bus services between the centre of Jämijärvi and Kankaanpää. The distance from the centre of Jämijärvi to Jämi is about 6 km.
