The Yliluoma Farm offers a relaxed, authentic, and meaningful experience with animals in Suurimaa, Jämijärvi. Established in 2026, this small farmyard lets you get to know a diverse group of animals, including miniature horses, goats, sheep, chickens, a mini pig, rodents, rabbits, and even more exotic residents: lizards and a turtle. The atmosphere is cozy and close to nature—a place where you can stop for a moment, take a breath, and enjoy the calming company of the animals.
At the heart of the farmyard’s mission is taking a break from the hustle and bustle, the well-being and interaction of animals and people, responsibility, and ecological values. The animals are not merely attractions at the farmyard; above all, they are pets and members of the family. Visitors learn about the animals’ lives, needs, and care, as well as respect for nature. Animals teach empathy, foster genuine presence, and reduce stress, but they also remind us of simplicity: with animals, nothing special is needed—simply being there is enough. Meaningful moments often arise from small things.
The Farmyard is open at specific times; admission is € 5 per person. You may bring your own snacks. There is also a paid café at events, organized by the Palokoski Village Association.
In addition to the farmyard activities, a mobile animal service is available for organizations and various events.
