When planning an event in Jämi, it’s a good idea to pay special attention to certain details. This will ensure that organizing your event in Jämi goes as smoothly as possible.

1. Find out about other events and activities in the area

First, find out if there are any other events or large-scale activities planned in Jämi during that time. Check Jämi’s event calendar and contact the municipality of Jämijärvi. The municipality often has advance information about events planned for Jämi. Find out how your event can be arranged alongside the other events and activities in the area.

2. Book event venues

Events held in Jämi often make use of the facilities at Jämi Arena. There are also other venues in Jämi and the surrounding area that can be used for events.

3. Obtain permits for the use of the areas

A permit must be obtained from Metsähallitus Parks & Wildlife Finland for all events and gatherings of more than 20 people held in Jämi and elsewhere in Hämeenkangas. Permits are not required for events held exclusively indoors. The processing time for an event permit depends on the size and nature of the event. It is always advisable to apply for a permit as early as possible.

Depending on the event area, the use of the areas is also agreed upon with other parties, such as the Jämi Foundation (Jämi-Säätiö).

4. Obtain any other necessary permits

Obtain any other permits required for the event from local authorities, such as the fire department and the police.

5. Join the network

Join the open Jämi network, which meets in the spring and fall.

The purpose of the Jämi network is to

  • raise awareness of issues related to Jämi
  • promote communication between different stakeholders
  • increase cooperation between different events and avoid duplication, as well as
  • create opportunities for different stakeholders to build new partnerships

6. Use local service providers

Explore the services offered by local businesses and take advantage of local expertise at every stage of event planning and execution.

7. Ask the municipality to be your partner

The municipality of Jämijärvi aims to boost the vitality of the municipality and the well-being of its residents through events. The municipality supports the organization of events in Jämijärvi.

8. Make sure you’re visible locally as well

Promote and publicize the event through local channels as well, such as the information screens in the municipality of Jämijärvi and local newspapers.
