Pirkka Ski Race is one of Finland’s most legendary skiing races. This year marks its 69th anniversary. The full 90 km route runs from Niinisalo to Teivo. In addition to the full distance, it is also possible to ski the Retki-Pirkka 52 km (p/v) from Niinisalo to Kyröskoski and the Puoli-Pirkka 45 km (p/v) from Hämeenkyrö airfield to Teivo. The main distance can also be completed as a relay race in the Neliveto series.
Pirkka Ski Race will be followed by Pirkka Backpack Skiing (Reppuhiihto) on the following Saturday. Reppuhiihto is based on self-sufficiency and there is no timekeeping. For the first time, Reppuhiihto will include a 52 km half-distance race and Neliveto.
Changes are possible depending on snow conditions. Up-to-date information about the event is available on the Pirkka Ski Race.
