Pirkan Hiihto ski event cannot be organized this year on the full-scale 90 km route from Niinisalo to Teivo, because there is too little snow on the route from Hämeenkankas to Tampere. Instead of the traditional Pirkan Hiihto, the event will take place as Kangas-Pirkka on teh Hämeenkangas esker.

The starting and finishing point is in Jämi. The start takes place with a fexible start with classic or skate skiing. The routes are 65 and 40 km long. Kangas-Pirkka is not a competition, but a trek skiing event. Everyone must register for Kangas-Pirkka again on Pirkan Hiihto’s website, preferably in advance.

The details of the Reppuhiihto event, which is usually organized on the Saturday following the Pirkan Hiihto, are decided immediately after the Kangas-Pirkka. If the snow condition has improved, Reppuhiihto event follows the traditional 90 km route. If the snow condition does not allow a long route, The Reppuhiihto event will also take place only in Hämeenkangas.

Kangas-Pirkka was carried out for the last time two years ago. This year a slightly different route will be used. The route will be confirmed on February 20, after which the route map will be added to the Pirkan Hiihto website.
