Jämin Joulukylä (Jämi Chrismas Village) is an atmospheric annual Christmas market that attracts up to ten thousand visitors to Jämi over the weekend. Always held in mid-December, the two-day event is eagerly awaited year after year.

During the Christmas market, the Jämi Arena and its surroundings turn into a real Christmas land. Inside the arena, there are more than 70 sales points where you can buy Christmas treats and handicrafts for Christmas gifts, among other things. There are also stalls in the square area in the courtyard, where you can buy a Christmas tree, for example.

You can enjoy a treat while you shop in Mrs. Santa’s café. At the Experience Hut, you can have rice porridge and coffee. At Santa’s workshop, the youngest visitors can tell their gift wishes to the elves and meet Santa Claus.

There are also other Christmas activities inside the Arena and in the outdoor areas, which vary from year to year. The activities may include sleigh rides on horses or dogs, musical or theatrical performances, elf dances and a gingerbread cookie exhibition, among others. Open fires brighten up the darkening winter evening. By the Nativity Scene, you can hear the message of Christmas and light a candle.

The market has its roots the Jämin Joulukylä Association which was established in 2004 to organize the event. The original aim of the association was to support families who had lost a child to spend time together. From 2017 to 2024, the event has been organised by the local scouters Jämijärven Miilunvartijat in cooperation with numerous other associations and partners. In 2025, the Jämijävi-Seura association took the main resbonsibility to organize the event.
